James Charles is a YouTuber who creates videos on make-up and beauty. He had over sixteen million subscribers, but it all changed when his (ex) friend Tati Westbrook made a video on James.
The drama began when James Charles advertised a hair care product which was a competitor of Tati's own hair care brand. She was hurt with her actions and she brought her feelings to YouTube. She created a video called "Bye Sister".
It's easy to see in the video that she was furious with her behavior. Tati talked about their friendly relationship, and how it was and authentic. Their relationship was not about the money and Tati felt like she was James's mentor. She saw potential in James, but she says that James changed because of the money he was earning.
She said she tried to stop him from being too conceited. Tati also said, that he does not want to listen and she does not want to be his friend because of this. In her video, she also talked about how James treats heterosexual men. The story is very eye-opening.
He phoned her about an event at her birthday party. James tried to trick a man into thinking he was gay for him. She told him in the video, "You use your fame, your power and your money to play with people's emotions. You threaten to ruin and embarrass them, and you do it to behave sexually in your favor, even if they are straight. "

After the release of the video, James lost subscribers. He had more than sixteen million, but today he has less than fourteen million. His fans or 'sisters' push the unsubscribe button one by one. It is not clear if James Charles's career will suffer because of this situation.
What do I think of the drama? Well, it's hard to say. I definitely feel like James is in the wrong, but I feel like this is a biased opinion because I've only watched and know Tati's side things. I don't know how it will play out but I admit that this is interesting to watch.
James recently uploaded an entire video regarding the entire situation along with evidence. After a couple of week, she ended up removing the video entirely from her channel. In my opinion, I feel like Tati was not telling the full truth about how he tricked a straight man to turn gay. Now, Tati is losing followers while James gains. The entire situation is a disaster that was ready to blow in Tati's face. What does Tati gain from attacking James infront in public? This entire scandal could have been avoided if they discussed the matter in private. It also shows how shady the internet audience can be. One minute, millions of people automatically believe all the news Tati stated and begin to send James death threats... next minute they delete the messages and refollow? It's really sad to see strangers attack a person they don't even know anything about, and that's the tea.
ReplyDeleteHaving to listen to James Charles perspective was truly devastating. It's quite disgusting to know that Tati was trying to completely ruin James Charles' career by telling her own viewers the wrong description of him having to make people assume that James Charles' is trying to seduce straight mens. I feel as if Tati wanted to gain more subscribers by telling everyone false information about her own "best friend" is truly disgusting. This proves that we all shouldn't believe what everyone says.
